A Joyful Evening in the Garden
Thank you for making our nibble fundraiser a success!
On Sunday September 13th close to 200 supporters gathered at the Garden to celebrate with music, food, drink, art, and plants. Many delightful connections and memories were made!
Guests were greeted at the entry with harmonium music from Rayn and a complimentary bandana designed by local artist Lettie Jane Rennekamp. From there they enjoyed guitar music from Michael Hays, live letterpress printing with Rory Sparks, Kora music from Will Dudley, a station for youth and the young at heart to make a festive mask with Sarah Ferguson, tasty wood-fired pizza from KCK, refreshing cocktails with bartenders Thirst Responders, accordion and cello music from Just Desserts, charcuterie and desserts from White Pepper, and an introduction to our partners for the 2027 program Terrain: a land art experience with artists Alice Christine Walker, Jocelyn Rice, and curators Kendra Roberts and Tammy Jo Wilson.
A big thank you to our event sponsors Portland Nursery, The Davey Tree Expert Company, Kathy Clayton Whole Person Coaching, Breakside Brewing, and Westmoreland Liquor. Special thanks also to Andrea Getts Photos for documenting many memorable moments. Here's a few of those we want to share with you.
We raised $9,000 to support the Garden thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, our event sponsors, and partners. Every dollar raised keeps our gates open to welcome more than 36,000 visitors every year. Your investment in an urban greenspace in outer SE Portland makes it possible for us to engage with people of all ages to share a love of nature and inspire environmental stewardship.
And a shout out to our amazing volunteers, Board Members, and staff for all of their behind the scenes work making this event shine.
Thanks to everyone who makes events like these possible at Leach. Your ongoing dedication to the Garden makes all the difference. Here's to the power of community!
