Join Leach Botanical Garden and Johnson Creek Watershed Council on a behind the scenes tour of the Back 5 Community Ecosystem Enhancement Project where you'll learn about riparian restoration, invasive species, and native plantings.

The Back 5 is fenced off and closed to the public while it's being restored. Participants can expect a hands-on study of macroinvertebrates, native plants, and learning about the unique partnerships that have helped lead the restoration process. The Back 5 is a wilderness area with rough terrain. It is not ADA accessible, and the tour is not recommended for children under 8 years old or people with limited mobility.

This event is in participation with OMSI's Science Festival.

Accessibility requirements: The tour will involve dirt and gravel trails, narrow pathways, and some moderately steep trails. It is not currently ADA accessible, and the tour is not recommended for children under 8 years old or people with limited mobility.

Free with admission to the garden. Tour is limited to 30 participants.
